Health, Safety and Environment

Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is committed to ensuring that it provides a safe and healthy work environment which supports wellbeing, eliminates hazards, minimises risks and prevents work related injury and illness as far as reasonably practicable.

GMW has no tolerance for risks that could cause serious injury or harm and all our people are expected to demonstrate and role model safety leadership.

We commit to protecting the environment, including cultural heritage sites, minimising pollution, enhancing environmental performance, and mitigating the impacts from our activities.

We will:

  • meet all legislative and other compliance obligations applying to our business activities including health and safety, environment and sustainability
  • identify and manage hazards, risks and opportunities that arise from business activities
  • maintain established measurable performance objectives
  • monitor, evaluate, and validate performance through audits and inspections, and conduct analysis of HSE data to understand and drive improvements
  • continuously improve the effectiveness of our Integrated HSE Management System having regard to the needs and expectations of our employees and interested parties
  • provide opportunities for employees and interested parties to be consulted with regard to HSE matters and ensure they are made aware of and understand the HSE policy, related procedures and processes through relevant training, supervision and/or provision of information.
