Blue-green algae warning removed for the Lower Loddon River and Normanville Water District

Friday 7 June, 2019

Goulburn Murray Water (GMW) has removed the blue-green algae warnings for the Loddon River downstream of the Loddon Weir (Fernihurst) to the confluence with the Little Murray River, including Twelve Mile Creek, and for the Normanville Water District following a significant decline in blue-green algae levels.

GMW will continue to undertake water quality monitoring and if blue‑green algae reach levels deemed unsafe by national health guidelines, a warning will be issued.

Keep up to date with current blue-green algae warnings at https://www.g-mwater.com.au/news/bga or phone the GMW blue-green algae hotline on 03 5826 3785.

Customers are reminded that water supplied by GMW is not suitable for human consumption without first being properly treated.
