* Form 40 Application to Link Multiple Water Shares and/or Multiple Water-Use Licences to a Single Allocation Bank Account - application fees vary according to the number of water shares or water-use licences involved. If you have more water shares than water-use licences, $75.70 is payable per water share. If you have a greater number of water-use licences, the fee is $75.70 per licence. Plus, any allocation trades requested under 3B of Form 40 will incur a fee of $75.70 per trade. If unsure, please contact your water corporation for assistance.
** On 1 July each year the fees are indexed in accordance with the Monetary Units Act 2004.

Water trading applications can be complex and may involve various supporting paperwork and materials to also be submitted. Only complete applications can be processed. To help ensure that you have all the required documentation follow the relevant checklists below, which are designed to guide you through the process.

When is a Statutory Declaration and Consent of Land owner required?
During the Water Transfer application process, applicants may be required to sign a statutory declaration or receive consent from the existing land owner. For a full list of when these are required click here.

100 Point Check
Every time you apply to transfer a water share or to give a limited term transfer of a water share a 100 ID check form needs to be completed. G-MW cannot process the above applications until each person signing the application as an owner (ie. seller) of the water share, or on the owner(s) behalf, has completed the 100 point identity check.

Water Entitlement Storage Fee Remittance Advice Form
When completing an application to Transfer or Divide and Transfer a Water Share, all outstanding Water Entitlement Storage Fees must be paid as a condition of our approval. This form should be attached to a cheque or can be used to record credit card details.

Watershare Ownership
The Victorian Water Registrar has legal responsibility for the Water Register, which was implemented for northern Victorian regulated systems on 1 July 2007, and declared water systems in southern Victoria on 1 July 2008.
For information about recording water share transactions, including transfers, mortgages, limited term transfers and discharges of mortgage that are recorded by the Victorian Water Registrar.
