Public consultation on houseboat regulations

Friday 12 April, 2024

Public consultation on the Water (Lake Eildon Recreation Area) (Houseboats) Regulations is now open

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) has been working with Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW), representatives of the houseboating community, and other stakeholders on the review and remaking of the regulations for houseboat use on Lake Eildon. The remade regulations will replace the Water (Lake Eildon Recreation Area) (Houseboats) Regulations 2013, which sunset on 11 June 2024.

The regulations apply to Houseboats on Lake Eildon.

Consultation on the draft Water (Recreational Area) (Houseboat) Regulations 2024 is now live on EngageVic

  • Enable the community to provide input on the content of the draft Regulations, by providing an opportunity for feedback via a survey or by making a written submission.
