The Upper Goulburn Groundwater Management Area (GMA) includes the Rubicon River, Acheron River, Yea River, King Parrot Creek and Upper Goulburn River catchments, extending from Kinglake and Marysville in the south to Eildon in east, Seymour in the west and Alexandra in the north.

Groundwater management
The Upper Goulburn GMA Local Management Plan (the Plan) was developed by Goulburn-Murray Water in consultation with a Groundwater Reference Group made up of groundwater customers and representatives from key stakeholder agencies. The Plan was approved on 29 August 2013.
The Plan provides the local community, and in particular licensed groundwater users, with information about the groundwater system and rules describing how the resource is managed.
