This summer will be like no other when it comes to recreation at our storages.
If you are visiting one of our storages this summer, you must comply with a few COVID Safe principles:
Ensure physical distancing
Stay at least 1.5 metres away from anyone you don't live with.
Wear a face mask
Everyone in Victoria aged 12 years and older must carry a fitted face mask outside their home, unless they have lawful reason not to use one.
Wearing a face mask indoors will be mandatory from 5pm 31 December 2020. It is also strongly recommended you wear a mask outdoors when you can’t keep 1.5 metres distance from other people.
Practice good hygiene
When visiting our storages, bring your own 60 per cent alcohol-based hand sanitiser or soap, and clean water for hand washing.
Visiting a storage
- COVID Safe reminder signage – this signage indicates where an area is open or closed.
- Boat operators are asked not to set up their day operations adjacent to boat ramps, enabling an improved launch and retrieve process.
- Take in/take out – rubbish facilities at our storages can vary. To support increased hygiene practices, please ensure that you remove and take with you any rubbish when leaving.
- No foreshore camping – while not a change, visitors are reminded that GMW storages are NO FORESHORE CAMPING areas.
If you arrive at a recreational area and it is full (no parking spaces, or social distancing is not possible), please move to another area.
Storage maps with information about designated recreational areas and facilities are available at our Recreation Guides page.
