Boort-Kerang road closure

Thursday 29 July, 2021

The culvert crossing on Boort-Kerang Road near Normanville Road will be closed in both directions from Sunday 1 August to Friday 20 August 2021 as Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) undertakes maintenance works.

The project is part of GMW’s $8 million Winter Works Program, which sees vital upgrades take place across the water delivery network during the irrigation shutdown.

Traffic from the north will be diverted along Normanville Road, then south on Kerang Quambatook Road and Guthrie Street before turning east on Boort-Quambatook Road and Meering West Road.

Localised road access will continue to be available to residents on both sides of the works.

Traffic management signs and electronic information boards will also be installed a week before the works begin.

“We are pleased to be delivering this crucial upgrade for the community," GMW Infrastructure Delivery Services General Manager Warren Jose said.

“To reduce unnecessary impact on residents, we have also communicated with essential services such as Australia Post, school bus services, emergency services and waste collection so they can adjust their services accordingly,” Mr Jose said.

“We ask that drivers take extra care when travelling on these roads, as there will be increased traffic and heavy vehicles in the area.”
