The Shepparton Water Services Committee represents irrigation customers in the Shepparton and surrounding region. This includes the towns of Congupna, Tallygaroopna, Invergordon, Katandra West, Bunbartha, Nathalia, Shepparton East, Kialla, Kialla West and Shepparton.
The Shepparton Irrigation Area covers 81,750ha, of which 51,000ha is irrigated. There are 1470 irrigated properties within the region. The area has 754km of irrigation channel and 441km of drainage channels.
The area is diverse in that it has a range of irrigated agriculture, from intense horticulture and dairying areas to annual pasture and permanent pasture areas.
