GMID Customer Committees (East, West and Central)

There are three Customer Committees to cover the Goulburn Murray Irrigation District (GMID), aligned to our East, West and Central irrigation areas.

Our GMID Customer Committees will be able to raise issues and opportunities, and have input into a range of initiatives such as:

  • GMW’s asset management profiling
  • Scenario planning for GMW’s drought and climate action responses
  • GMW’s Pricing Submission 2028-2032
  • Drainage service levels and costs
  • Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action’s (DEECA) deeming review
  • Research into the future of water availability
  • Restoring Our Rivers related initiatives
  • Improvements to GMW’s services and customer experience
  • Meeting with other agencies such as DEECA, Agriculture Victoria and Catchment Management Authorities.

The GMID Customer Committees will meet at least three times per year, as well as attending an annual summit.

GMID Customer Committee - East

The GMID Customer Committee - East has five members from the Murray Valley irrigation district and four members from the Shepparton irrigation district. Both the fifth position in the Murray Valley irrigation district and fourth position in the Shepparton irrigation district are currently vacant.

Murray Valley

Jane Waser

Landowner and former engineer with local government and private sector experience. Brings water industry perspective, community ties, and a focus on productive irrigation.

Paul Lindsay

Experienced in farming and irrigation, with an in-depth understanding of regional water use. Committed to ensuring a productive irrigation region.

Andrew Routley

30 years in horticulture and connections to Cobram Fruit Growers. Substantial agricultural knowledge and connections to local networks.

Matthew Cornish

Third-generation Cobram farmer with 20+ years in irrigation and water management. Offers valuable committee experience, broad regional networks, and practical understanding of GMW operations.

Shepparton

Michael van Eyk

A long-time dairy farmer and irrigator with hands-on knowledge across multiple irrigation districts, offering valuable perspective on water efficiency, resilience, and community ties.

Craig Reynolds

Seasoned cropping farmer and past Water Services Committee Chair with 25 years in the industry and active involvement in the Irrigation Farmer Network. Provides practical knowledge and leadership.

Peter Radevski

General Manager and Financial Controller at Radevski Coolstores, with over 30 years experience in horticulture. Has developed strong relationships in a wide array of business circles and horticultural industry networks, and hopes to provide a balanced voice for Shepparton East irrigators.

GMID Customer Committee - West

The GMID Customer Committee - West has five members from the Torrumbarry irrigation district and four members from the Loddon Valley irrigation districts.

Torrumbarry 

Andrew Leahy

Experienced dairy farmer and irrigation surveyor with leadership roles in water services and community groups. Well-connected across local networks.

Hamish Toll

Multi-generational Gunbower irrigation farmer and tech business owner with broad technical, analytical, and people skills. Experienced in community leadership and government liaison.

Calum Peace

Experienced in large-scale irrigation and diverse crop systems, with active community ties. A younger farmer with a positive outlook.

Gregory Quinn

Large irrigator with strong ties to the irrigation community. Provides practical views and active engagement in regional agriculture networks.

Dianne Bowles

Irrigator of 18 years with in-depth understanding of agricultural and environmental water use. Brings broad networks and diverse board and community insights.

Loddon Valley

Todd Martin

Irrigator and farm manager with a background in irrigated cropping research and agronomy. Offers broad ag-sector knowledge, research networks, and 17 years of farming experience.

Douglas Perryman

A Loddon Valley farmer and agronomist with more than 10 years’ experience, offering strategic perspective into irrigation and well-established connections across local farming, schools, and sports communities.

Tony Sawers

Balanced and well-connected, with keen people skills and long-standing ties to Boort. Brings global agri-business perspective, water engineering knowledge and practical, environmentally conscious thinking.

Matthew Chalmers

Crop farmer offering practical awareness of modern water delivery challenges and system limitations on the ground. Board member and active local volunteer.

GMID Customer Committee - Central

The GMID Central Customer Committee has five members from the Central Goulburn irrigation district and four members from the Rochester-Campaspe irrigation districts.

Central Goulburn

Gordon Watson

A cropping property owner with a background in electrical work, servicing irrigation infrastructure. Strengths include practical expertise, regional knowledge, and robust community engagement.

Ben Nexhip

Lifelong irrigator with hands-on experience from traditional farm channels to modern systems. Passionate advocate for innovation, community, and water literacy.

Dallas Aikman

Former GMW employee with 20+ years' experience and current irrigation customer, offering insight into Goulburn Murray Irrigation District infrastructure and broad community connections.

Peter Hacon

Over 48 years in irrigated farming and water leadership, including 17 years as Chair of a Water Services Committee. Brings established networks and practical knowledge.

Graeme Donaldson

Local farming and earthmoving business owner with practical knowledge of irrigation modernisation, agriculture technology, and customer needs. Actively involved in farming events and networks.

Rochester

Peter Gibson

Dairy farmer turned irrigated cropper with over 30 years’ experience. Offers views from natural resource management board roles and maintains active farming and community connections.

Glenn Murrells

Agriculture graduate and long-time irrigator with keen economic perspective and ties to irrigation communities. Focused on seeing irrigation remaining strong for generations to come.

Andrew Rushton

Dairy farmer and Chair of the Young Dairy Network Steering Committee. Provides enthusiasm, fresh ideas, and a passion for shaping the future of water management.

Corey Mitchell

Farmer and small business owner with 35 years of irrigation experience. Long-standing member of the previous Water Services Committee with broad connections across farming communities.
