Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is Australia’s largest rural water corporation, with a vision to deliver “water for a thriving northern Victoria”. Through its responsibility for storing, managing and delivering water across most of northern Victoria, GMW provides services to about 25,000 customers in its operating region via a $5 billion asset base including 10,000km of delivery & drainage network and 23 water storages.
About this role
As Manager Project Delivery at GMW, you’ll make a direct impact to the successful delivery of water to customers & communities. You are an experienced leader who will manage the delivery of engineering, procurement, construction management, and project management services for GMW’s internal teams (Water Delivery Services (WDS) & Water Storage Services (WSS)) and external state-owned agencies across northern Victoria. With an annual budget of approximately $20 million, you will oversee critical infrastructure such as large dams, water storages, and irrigation systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of approximately 40 professionals, including engineers, project managers, and an internal construction group
- Managing the delivery of major and minor projects across GMW business units
- Overseeing four direct reports: Construction Lead, Construction Manager, Lead Project Manager, and Lead Project Services
- Managing relationships and delivering projects for external stakeholders, including the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) and Catchment Management Authority
This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the management and development of essential water infrastructure in northern Victoria.
What do you need?
- Genuine personal alignment to GMW’s values (leading by example in their implementation) & a passion to help deliver “water for a thriving northern Victoria”
- Degree in engineering
- Experience managing design and delivery of complex infrastructure projects in the dams, MDBA, water and/or irrigation sector
- Experience in managing complex infrastructure programs of work
- Experience in leading in-house construction or maintenance teams
- Experience in leading professional multi-disciplined teams
- Experience in management of contractors and consultants
- Experience with project management and finance reporting systems
- Post graduate degree in engineering or business or finance (desired)
