As part of its strategic review process, Goulburn-Murray Water has announced it will be winding up Watermove as part of its commitment to focus on core business.
Watermove Pty Ltd was a subsidiary of Goulburn-Murray Water and operated as an independent broker of water entitlements.
Watermove has effectively served its purpose. It was created at a time when there weren't other providers in the market place and the Victorian Water Register didn't exist.
Now there are multiple providers in the market place and the Water Register provides substantial information about the water market.
Goulburn-Murray Water will be directly contacting affected parties in coming days and investigating the potential sale of assets and the business in the coming weeks.
Goulburn-Murray Water thanked the Board and staff of Watermove for their contribution to the development of the water market.
