About Laanecoorie Reservoir

Location

Laanecoorie reservoir is located on the Loddon River, 40 km south-west of Bendigo.

History Laanecoorie Reservoir

Work on the original reservoir began in 1889 and was completed in 1891.  The embankment was substantially reconstructed after major flood damage in 1909, and the reservoir was enlarged to its present capacity in 1935.

Operations

Laanecoorie Reservoir's function is to control flows in the Loddon River downstream of Cairn Curran and Tullaroop Reservoirs.

Further Information

 

The current shortened water ski course and reduced number of circuits per boat will remain until water levels recover.

All recreation areas and toilet facilities are accessible to the public.

All vessels are currently restricted to a maximum speed of 5 knots.  Normal boating operations apply when water levels are at 158.43 mAHD and above.
