Groundwater Pumping Incentives
Incentives are available to assist landholders with installing groundwater pumps to lower watertables and to provide additional water for sustainable irrigation. The objective is to manage salinity in high watertable areas through the installation of private and public groundwater pumps.
Pasture areas are served by private and public groundwater pumps in the Shepparton Irrigation Region.
The groundwater pumping incentives schemes available to landholders within the Shepparton Irrigation Region and the Campaspe Irrigation District include:
Farm Exploratory Drilling Scheme (FEDS)
Financial and technical assistance to locate a suitable groundwater pumping site on-farm.
Capital Grants Scheme
Financial assistance for capital works to install a new system on a suitable site located by exploratory drilling or upgrade an existing groundwater pumping system.
