This project commenced in August 2005 and has focused on the development of new National standards for open flow and closed conduit meters. An evaluation of the Dethridge meter has also been undertaken and a decision has been made to progressively replace Dethridge meters. A preferred replacement meter has been identified and six sites were evaluated in 2005/06. Testing is underway on a range of emplacement configurations to optimise the hydraulic performance and accuracy of these meters. An alternative design is currently being finalised. Small and large versions of this design were installed during the 06/07 irrigation season and evaluated.
