Monday 9 October, 2006

Thirteen new customer representatives were introduced to Goulburn-Murray Water at an induction day held at Tatura on last Friday.

The representatives have all recently been appointed to Water Services Committees across Goulburn‑Murray Water's operational areas.

The induction day provided an opportunity for the new members to interact at length with the Chairperson, Chief Executive and senior management and to learn more about Goulburn-Murray Water's operations.

G-MW Chairperson Don Cummins formally welcomed the representatives and praised them for their willingness to provide leadership in water management matters at a most challenging time for the industry.

"Improving customer service and enabling customers to influence decisions and future directions is very important to Goulburn-Murray Water," Mr Cummins said.

"Water Services Committees play a vital role in customer representation and have input to Goulburn‑Murray Water decisions on operational matters, price-service trade-offs and business directions."

The induction day involved a series of presentations that aimed to provide a high level understanding of Goulburn-Murray Water's business and organisation, and to provide a clear understanding of the role of Water Services Committees.

The inductees represent the Shepparton, Central Goulburn, Pyramid-Boort, Murray Valley, Torrumbarry Water Services Committees, the Loddon Water Districts Committee and the King River Catchment Committee.

"Each of these people is extremely busy and I thank them for devoting their time to take on such an important role in our industry," Mr Cummins said.
