Botts Road Footbridge – connecting communities

Thursday 19 July, 2012

The Lake Mulwala Community Reference Group welcomes the installation of a footbridge connecting the Yarrawonga and Hogan's Road communities.

The footbridge, that crosses the drain between the Yarrawonga Rowing Club and the Silverwoods Golf & Lifestyle Resort on Botts Road Yarrawonga, was an initiative of the Groups involvement in the Lake Mulwala Land & On-Water Management Planning process.

"The bridge is a great example of Goulburn‑Murray Water working with the local community to improve access to the Lake and the foreshore," said Geoff Bradford, member of the Lake Mulwala Community Reference Group.

David Jackson, Goulburn-Murray Water Land and On-Water Manager said the footbridge, which is constructed using recycled product, was identified as a high priority during the public consultation process of the Lakes Land and On-Water Management Plan and is jointly contributed by Goulburn-Murray Water and the Murray-Darling Basin Authority.

This is a great example of the community and organisations working together for an end result that is a terrific resource for the local community and residents.
