The 2010 nomination process has resulted in the Board of Goulburn-Murray Water (G-MW) appointing 16 new members to its customer advisory committees. A further 28 representatives were reappointed and join a customer committee network that includes more than 75 customers from across G-MW's service region.
Following a committee-led review, G-MW consolidated the diversions and groundwater catchment and system committees into 4 new regional committees, and the Board has now made its first ever appointments to these committees.
G-MW Chairman Stephen Mills welcomed the new committee members and is pleased to see a broad range of interests and experience on all of the committees.
Mr Mills said anyone interested in joining their local committee should contact the local committee or look online at www.g-mwater.com.au/wsc for all current member profiles and contact information.
"On 30 June each year a number of sitting members come to the end of their three-year term. The appointment process coincides with this date, however the committees' charters provide for up to 9 members on each committee. Positions not filled during the annual appointments process can be filled at any time by the Board, and a limited number of places are still available," said Mr Mills.
