G-MW is taking its commitment to provide customers with relevant and timely information to assist their farm business planning online with the launch of its irrigator e-news service. The service will be emailed to customers twice a month following the announcement of seasonal allocations and will provide short sharp updates, tailored to the needs of G-MW's irrigation customers including local Area messages. The e-news service will commence Friday 15 January to coincide with the next seasonal allocation update.
G-MW General Manager Operations Kevin Preece is inviting all customers to visit G-MW's website, www.g-mwater.com.au to subscribe to the exciting new free service.
"Our customer surveys repeatedly show customers' want up to date information to assist their decision making. Online distribution is a very cost effective way to provide relevant and timely updates to our customers, and it will complement the more detailed information customers can obtain from G-MW staff," said Mr Preece.
To receive the updates twice a month customers need to visit G-MW's website and complete the online subscription form.
"It's up to customers to decide whether they want to receive the updates and they can update their email address or unsubscribe at any time. They can also indicate what information they would like to receive, so that in the future we can customise the information we send to them," said Mr Preece.
Mr Preece confirmed G-MW intends to build the service over coming seasons to increase customers' ability to tailor the information they receive.
"We are starting with a basic service and will work with customers to build it from there," said Mr Preece.
Each edition of irrigator e-news will include the latest information to assist customers' plan their water use and trading and will include:
- Seasonal allocations and outlooks;
- Volumes available for delivery in each system;
- Updates on processing times for water trade applications;
- Explain water policy changes that may impact on how customers own, use or access their water for example changes to carryover or system allocation rules;
- Provide links to assist customers' source information about other programs for example the Commonwealth Government Water Buybacks and the Northern Victorian Irrigation Renewal Project's (NVIRP) modernisation program and its 4% exemption process.
"We are basing the content on questions our staff regularly receive from customers. We will also use e-news to deliver operational updates for example local channel runs and customer meetings," said Mr Preece.
We are finding that more and more customers are choosing to do business on line and this service will complement our very popular WaterLINE online water ordering service.
G-MW will continue to provide its existing suite of customer information services including newsletters and through local media but believes the e-news service's ability to deliver timely and targeted information to customers makes it a vital next step in improving information services.
"We can't make it rain but we can ensure our customers have access to accurate and timely information on which to base their decisions and plan their future operations," said Mr Preece.
