The board of Goulburn-Murray Water (G-MW) resolved today to appoint 5 further members to its Pyramid-Boort Customer Reference Group. The announcement follows the Board's appointment of local irrigator Neil Beattie as Chair of the new group earlier this week.
G-MW Managing Director David Stewart said that following the Board's decision, G-MW was moving ahead with its process to ensure effective customer consultation arrangements are in place for the Pyramid-Boort region from the start of the 2010 year.
"The size of the committee was always going to be decided by the quality of the candidates. We have a terrific mix of skills, views and experience to represent the interests of local irrigators and provide advice to the Board of G-MW," said Mr Stewart.
G-MW's selection panel comprising G-MW Chairman Stephen Mills, Managing Director David Stewart and Neil Beattie interviewed all candidates earlier this week.
"Every member of the committee is directly involved in running a successful irrigated agriculture business in the region, and every member has expressed a real passion for the future of their Irrigation Area," said Mr Stewart.
