Goulburn-Murray Water has appointed Daniel Irwin as the new manager for its Central Murray Operations based in Kerang, following Lester Haw's retirement in May.
Daniel will commence in his new role on Thursday 22 July. Daniel has over ten years experience in rural water systems and for the last 2 years he has managed the Campaspe Operations (including the Rochester-Campaspe irrigation areas). Prior to this, Daniel held a range of management roles in the Central Goulburn Operations area based in Tatura. Daniel commenced with G-MW as a trainee Water Services Officer and has undertaken extensive training and studies to prepare for such a senior management role.
Chairperson of the Central Murray Water Services committee, Mr Charlie Gillingham said "he was pleased that the area was able to secure a candidate with such a strong background in rural water systems and he looked forward to working with Daniel to ensure the best outcomes for Torrumbarry irrigators were achieved."
Acting Manager Gravity Operations Geoff Enever said that Daniel will be finalising a number of tasks in the Campaspe Operations area before he commences the Central Murray manager role.
"Daniel has extensive experience in the modernisation of our irrigation systems and this combined with his knowledge of the irrigation and drainage systems and environmental issues will be of great benefit to the Central Murray team. His leadership skills will complement the already successful team previously lead by Lester Haw," said Mr Enever.
