G-MW launches photography competition

Goulburn-Murray Water (G-MW) has launched its annual photography competition encouraging current and budding photography enthusiasts to submit photographs that show what the environment means to them.

According to G-MW Corporate Risk Manager, Martin Krzywak the competition is launched on World Environment Day (WED) and aims to focus the region's attention on the importance of the environment.

"The competition is an opportunity for everyone from school children to professionals to capture images that illustrate what the environment, whether it is local, regional even global, means to them. There are prizes for all categories and the winning entries are displayed in our offices and publications," said Mr Krzywak.

This year's competition has adopted the international theme for WED 2008 - Your planet needs you! UNite to combat climate change.

To enter the competition all entries must be received by G-MW no later than Friday 17 July 2009, and can be submitted to ems@g-mwater.com.au.

  • § The competition is open to electronic photographs and the entries will be assessed on artistic quality, originality and relevance to the theme, by a panel of industry representatives.
  • § All entries will become the property of G-MW for public display.
  • § Winners will be announced on August 2 2009 - National Tree Day.

Competition Categories:-

  • Primary school students
  • Secondary school students
  • Open age group

PRIZES

  • All prizes include a $150 gift voucher.
  • Students will also win a local indigenous tree to be planted at their school.

ENTRY DETAILS:-

  • Please ensure your name and contact details accompany your entry.
  • Entries will need to include a photo title, or short paragraph about the photograph.
