G-MW Drought Response

During drought we recognise that relevant, timely and accurate information is vital to the decision making of our customers and industry across the region.

On this page you can access a range of information including G-MW's allocation updates, media release and customer newsletters. There are also links to other useful information and sites.

Last year customers and G-MW worked together to significantly reduce system operating requirements and boost allocations. We will be working with you to do the same this year and are looking to you to keep us informed of your irrigation plans across the season. DROUGHT REBATE

26-10-2009

G-MW welcomes Victorian Government Drought Assistance. Broken, Campaspe, Loddon and Bullarook customers asked to NOT pay their 2009/10 Fixed Water Charge Accounts. For more information please see the drought rebate media release.

Regulated systems

On the 1st and 15th of each month (or next business day) G-MW issues a media release updating the allocations for all regulated systems.

Water Resources Allocated but Not Delivered, as at 1 March 2010

The table below details the volume of water currently allocated (carryover and current season allocation) but not delivered in each system as at 1/3/2010. This volume of water is available for use or to trade. Comparing dam levels with the same time last year does not accurately indicate the volume of water available for the 2009/10 season allocation because the volume in store includes water carried over from last season.

What are the supply arrangements for my irrigation area?

G-MW"s Area Teams have developed operating plans in partnership with customers. The plans are revised after each allocation update. Clicking on your system (listed in the menu on left) will take you to the local operating plan.

Groundwater

Allocation updates are made in accordance with the Groundwater Management Plans for each area. Please refer to pages below for allocations and updates.

Unregulated systems

G-MW monitors its unregulated streams and systems throughout the season and issues letters to customers to advise of any changes to local stream restrictions and rosters.
