Processing of Water Share Transfer Applications - Dates and deadlines
Applications received before 18 June
G-MW will endeavour to process applications
received before 18 June in the current 2009/10 season. If your application is
not affected by or exempted from the 4% limit, submitting your application
before 18 June will help to minimise any possible delays in processing.
Applications received after 18 June 2010
All applications to transfer water shares
received by G-MW between 21 June and 9 July will be included in the 2010/11
ballot that will take place on 12 July. The ballot will determine the
processing order for all the applications including:
- exempted from the 4% limit,
- to transfer water shares and land within an
irrigation area,
- to transfer water shares held by river diverters and non water
users, and
- all other non transfer applications - such as divisions
and consolidations.
The ballot only determines the order for processing applications at the beginning of the 2010/2011 year it does not
determine whether the application is successful. The ballot does not apply to
allocation or groundwater trades. To find out more about the 2010/2011 ballot

complete processing and begin processing post-ballot applications.
