G-MW updates 2010/11 seasonal outlooks

G-MW's latest seasonal outlooks indicate positive allocations for the Murray and Goulburn systems on 15 August 2010 but zero for all other systems under average conditions.

The outlooks provide an indication of allocations to assist irrigators and other water users in the planning for the year ahead. The outlooks are based on a broad range of assumptions that can change significantly over the course of the season.

G-MW makes first ever carryover declaration

G-MW in its role as Resource Manager, has made its first ever declaration under the new carryover rules for the Murray, Goulburn and Campaspe systems. G-MW declared that the probability of spill this season at Lake Eildon, Dartmouth Reservoir and Lake Eppalock is low which means all of your carryover is available in your Allocation Bank Account for trade or use inline with your local trading rules and/or operating arrangements.

  • applications exempt from or not affected by the 4% limit.
  • transfers of water shares and land within an irrigation area.
  • transfers of water shares held by river diverters and non water users, and

Water Register's annual ABA statements coming soon...

The Water Register will mail annual Allocation Bank Account statements during July. The annual statements detail transactions into and out of your ABA during 2009/10.

  • Your ABA statement includes a range of information you need to complete water trading applications so please keep it in a safe place so you can refer to it during the year.
  • Your 2009/10 ABA closing balance will not match your 2010/11 ABA opening balance because 5% of your carryover volume is deducted to meet storage losses.
