G-MW Drought Response

During drought we recognise that relevant, timely and accurate information is vital to the decision making of our customers and industry across the region.

On this page you can access a range of information including  G-MW's allocation updates, media release and customer newsletters. There are also links to other useful information and sites.

Plan your water needs with G-MW

Last year customers and G-MW worked together to significantly reduce system operating requirements and boost allocations. We will be working with you to do the same this year and are looking to you to keep us informed of your irrigation plans across the season. Click on the picture (left) to see our latest ad for an update on current supply and delivery issues.

G-MW regularly uses regional media to ensure the latest information is available to customers across the region.

IRRIGATION ALLOCATIONS AND RESOURCES

Regulated systems

On the 1st and 15th of each month (or next business day) G-MW issues a media release updating the allocations for all regulated systems.

The diagrams below link to a breakdown of water in store for both the Goulburn and the Murray System.

Water Resources Allocated but Not Delivered, as at 1 Sept 2010

The table below details the volume of water currently allocated (carryover and current season allocation) but not delivered in each system as at 1/9/2010.  This volume of water is available for use or to trade. Comparing dam levels with the same time last year does not accurately indicate the volume of water available for the 2010/11 season allocation because the volume in store includes water carried over from last season.
