Water Resources Officer

The role of Water Resources Officer is to assist with daily operations of water systems, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and assist with studies in water resource management, water supply system operation and the definition of water entitlements. The incumbent will assist with the development and refinement of current operating procedures for the major water supply systems of Northern Victoria. The Water Resources Officer will work in a team environment with other disciplines to achieve optimum results.

The main challenges of this position are to provide professional analysis of water resource management issues, and to develop sound and balanced solutions. Under general direction, the incumbent will be required to plan, monitor and report water system operations and develop new approaches for analysis of water resource management issues. Further, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and advising of Goulburn-Murray Water's compliance with water system obligations.
