Alan joined GMW in March 2014, with 25 years experience in the technology field, and 18 in senior management roles. Alan has previously held CIO roles with multi-national organisations, most recently in the tourism and hospitality industry, and has worked in Australia and internationally.

Scott Barber, General Manager Customer Operations

Qualifications: BEng, MAppSc (Ag), PGradCert (Mgt), Certificate IV Training & Assessment

Scott's experience in the water and irrigation sector is extensive, ranging from customer and stakeholder engagement and consultation, bulk water operations, irrigation, asset management, industry regulation and business growth.

Across 20 years, Scott has held numerous technical, management and executive positons within Sinclair Knight Merz, Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers, the NSW Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources, Irrigation Australia and most recently, WaterNSW.

Geoff Cutter, Chief Financial Officer

Qualifications: BEc, MBA, FCPA, GAICD

Geoff brings more than 30 years in commercial and statutory corporations, including Water Authority experience with Murray Irrigation Limited in Deniliquin.

Geoff has been CFO of the Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (which operates the 'Triple Zero' service across Victoria), and CFO in large public hospitals and local government.

Geoff's commercial experience ranged from very large corporations (Ericsson) through to the small and medium enterprise sector.

Luke McNamara, General Manager Innovation and Business Development

Qualifications: BSc/Forestry; GradCerts (Management Communications for Organisational Change, Business Restructure Management); Statistical Process Control and International Standards Organisation (ISO9001) Internal Auditor.

Luke McNamara has international experience in private sector Mergers and Acquisitions, commercialisation of Government services, public and private infrastructure partnerships and in capacity development and organisational change.

As the pioneer Business Development Manager and Assistant Director in TAFE NSW, he set up the Western Institute’s commercial training and consultancy services which had major national customers including Pazminco, Newcrest Mining, Namoi Cotton, Unilever and the Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX).

This business ran alongside other major income streams established by Luke including the Grants, Joint Ventures and International Projects portfolios. In the latter, Luke developed TAFE's first offshore JV in Malaysia and he won and managed more than 200 international aid projects throughout the Pacific. 

Luke is a former director of the Xanana Vocational Education (XVET) Trust of East Timor, and he is an International Member of the Institute of Public Works Engineering of Australasia (IPWEA). He is a sponsor of the IPWEA post graduate Diploma on Infrastructure Asset Accounting.

Chris Dalton, Corporate Secretary

Qualifications: BCom, PGDipEco, GradDipAcc, GradDipAppFin, GradDipACG, FCPA, F Fin, FGIA, FCIS, MAICD

Chris Dalton has extensive experience in financial reporting, governance, compliance and risk management.

He has held roles at organisations including PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and Coliban Water.

Chris is a former director of the Elmore, Lockington & Rochester Community Bank and currently is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee of the Anglican Diocese of Bendigo.
